The above graphic represents Charles Sonido's Title Belt. The belt designation is stated on the left. The "Level" is shown
on the belt buckle, where Level 1 is the lowest belt and Level 22 is the highest. The Title is stated on the right.

The next belt is the Red Belt, corresponding to the Sensei title. In order to be promoted to this belt the following goals must be met:
- a peak rating greater than 1675
- defeat at least 5 opponents rated over 1700
- rating maintained above 1600 for at least 25 consecutive games
- either or both of the following:
- a 1st place finish in at least 3 tournaments in a section of strength 13 or stronger
[NOTE: Occasionally, a 2nd place finish in a particularly large and strong section may be accepted
as equivalent to a 1st place finish for purposes of Title promotion];
- at least 15 unique stronger opponents defeated since last promotion;
Charles Sonido's next evaluation is scheduled for May 16.
