on the belt buckle, where Level 1 is the lowest belt and Level 22 is the highest. The Title is stated on the right.
The next belt is the 2nd degree Yellow Belt, corresponding to the Soldier title. In order to be promoted to this belt the following goals must be met:
a peak rating greater than 550
defeat at least 5 opponents rated over 600
rating maintained above 500 for at least 16 consecutive games
either or both of the following:
a 1st place finish in at least 1 tournament in a section of strength 2 or stronger
[NOTE: Occasionally, a 2nd place finish in a particularly large and strong section may be accepted
as equivalent to a 1st place finish for purposes of Title promotion];
at least 10 unique stronger opponents defeated since last promotion;
