The next belt is the 3rd degree Orange Belt, corresponding to the Samurai title. In order to be promoted to this belt the following goals must be met:
- a peak rating greater than 975
- defeat at least 5 opponents rated over 1000
- rating maintained above 900 for at least 20 consecutive games
- either or both of the following:
- a 1st place finish in at least 2 tournaments in a section of strength 6 or stronger
[NOTE: Occasionally, a 2nd place finish in a particularly large and strong section may be accepted
as equivalent to a 1st place finish for purposes of Title promotion];
- at least 10 unique stronger opponents defeated since last promotion;
Annie Yin's next evaluation is scheduled for May 9.
