a peak rating greater than 975
defeat at least 5 opponents rated over 1000
rating maintained above 900 for at least 20 consecutive games
either or both of the following:
a 1st place finish in at least 2 tournaments in a section of strength 6 or stronger
at least 8 unique stronger opponents defeated since last promotion;
